Le travail d'Iván Argote explore la relation entre l'histoire, la politique et la construction de nos propres subjectivités. Ses films, sculptures, collages et installations dans l'espace public ont pour but de susciter des questions sur la manière dont nous nous rapportons aux autres, à l'État, au patrimoine et aux traditions. Ses œuvres sont critiques, parfois anti-establishment, et traitent de l'idée d'apporter des affects à la politique, et de la politique aux affects avec un ton fort et tendre.

Iván Argote’s work explores the relationship in between history, politics and the construction of our own subjectivities. His films, sculptures, collages, and public space installations temps to generate questions about how we relate to the others, to the state, to patrimony and traditions. His works are critics, sometimes anti-establishment, and deal with the idea of bringing affects to the politics, and politics to the affects with a strong and tender tone.
